In the comments to Elon MuskTo ‘s recent tweet criticizing Apple for starting to collaborate with OpenAI, prominent Bitcoiner Saifedean Ammous responded to the tech mogul, chastising him for not launching BTC payments on social media giant X.
Ammous is known for writing the book, popular within the BTC community, called “The Bitcoin Standard” and is an influential figure among Bitcoin believers.
Saifedean Ammous he emotionally tweeted: “It is patently absurd that Twitter isn’t smart enough to simply accept Bitcoin.”
Elon Musk threatens to ban Apple devices
On June 10, upon the news of Apple joining forces with OpenAI and the integration of the ChatGPT bot, Elon Musk posted an emotional reaction on his X account. Being a strict opponent of the direction that the current leading intelligence developers have chosen artificial (the strategy of being socially liked), Musk tweeted that if Apple integrates ChatGPT at the operating system level, it will ban Apple devices across all of its companies.
Musk slammed this step by Apple as “an unacceptable security breach”. He also added that all visitors to his companies “will be required to check their Apple devices at the entrance, where they will be kept in a Faraday cage.” Previously, Musk has repeatedly accused OpenAI of being “woke” and started his own xAI start-up to create a chatbot, Grok, to compete with ChatGPT.
As previously reported, Apple and OpenAI have agreed to directly integrate ChatGPT into iOS 18, iPasOS 18, and macOS.
Apple develops its own native AI
Saifedean Ammous left the aforementioned comment on Musk’s tweet, in which the serial tech entrepreneur chastised Apple for partnering with OpenAI instead of creating its own AI.
Musk tweeted: “It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to create its own AI,” accusing ChatGPT of handing over user data to OpenAI – “Apple has no idea what’s really going on once they hand over your data to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river.”
However, Community Notes, the service that monitors media materials and tweets posted on Musk’s integrated X, corrected his tweet. The notes stated that Apple has developed its own core AI models, which “run on the device (locally) and have approximately 3 billion parameters.”
They will be integrated into iPhone, iPad and Mac.
