Michael Saylor, a vocal Bitcoin advocate and co-founder of the business intelligence giant MicroStrategy and stepped down as CEO to serve as executive chairman, posted a new tweet that intrigued the BTC community.
Recently, Saylor’s company, MicroStrategy, conducted another massive acquisition of Bitcoin, while the price of BTC suffered another decline.
Michael Saylor hints at MicroStrategy’s new logo?
Famous entrepreneur and Bitcoiner Saylor posted an image depicting a furry cartoon-like creature eating coins with the Bitcoin symbol on them. “New logo?” Saylor tweeted with that image.
This tweet sparked a heated discussion in the comments, where some X users started asking if this is a “new logo” for MicroStrategy since the creature in this image is eating Bitcoin – similar to Saylor’s company, which continues to make large acquisitions of BTC.
MicroStrategy Acquires More Bitcoin
Earlier this week, Michael Saylor announced another Bitcoin purchase while MicroStrategy purchased another large amount of BTC – 11,931 BTC, paying approximately $786 million because of this. Now, the company holds a staggering 226,331 Bitcoins with a total value of $8.33 billion.
This BTC was purchased at an average price of $65,883 per coin. MicroStrategy is now the largest corporate cryptocurrency holder by a wide margin.
This mega Bitcoin purchase was made possible thanks to the company recently raising $800 million in debt using convertible senior notes sold to investors. The initial goal was to raise $500 million to buy more BTC and use the rest of the funds for operating expenses.
However, later, the goal was expanded from $500 million to $800 million.
