While major cryptocurrencies posted tepid gains at the start of the week, with Bitcoin (BTC) up 2.5% to $63,000 while Ether (ETH) struggled but did not managed to surpass $3,000, the top crypto gainers today were all in the on-chain token markets.

Major cryptocurrencies remain stuck in recent trading ranges ahead of a barrage of US data later in the week.

But commercial activity in the piece of money the space was set alight by the sudden and unexpected return of Roaring Kitty.

Legendary GameStop Retail Investor Roaring kitten was a leading figure in the 2021 meme stock movement.

His return sparked calls for the return of crypto meme season and stock markets.

Not surprisingly, coins like Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Pepe (PEPE) and dogwifhat (WIF) outperformed.

But the top crypto winners today were all new/recently launched. coins with connections to the 2021 meme stock craze.

According to DEXScreenerthe Solana-based meme coin rose 39,400% in 24 hours.

Its market capitalization was still modest, at just under $1 million.

SOLBET is definitely one to watch if the current coin explosion continues to grow.

It has $125,000 in locked liquidity and has been traded by almost 12,000 unique wallets.

Before jumping in, traders should remember that almost all newly launched coins are either pumps and dumps or scams.

Roaring Cat (KITTY)

Named after Roaring Kitty himself, Roaring Kitty (KITTY) rose 1,000% in 24 hours on Monday. This has made it one of the top gainers in crypto today.

Despite having no obvious use cases, KITTY has managed to achieve a market cap of $24.5 million.

The token has $828,000 in locked liquidity and has been traded by almost 13,500 individual wallets.

AMC (AMC)

AMC Holdings was one of the most popular meme stocks of the 2021 craze.

So it’s no surprise that an AMC-themed coin popped after Roaring Kitty’s return.

AMC first launched in January and had faded into obscurity by April.

However, AMC came back to life on Monday and saw a final surge of 450%, according to DEXScreener. This has made it one of the top crypto gainers today.

Its market capitalization stood at $8.4 million, with $646,000 in cash tied up.

The meme coins mentioned above are all short-term hype and could quickly disappear.
